Find out Flex Fitness and Gym Center to try now in Miami. If you already set goals, then your first stop on the road to health is finding a flex center or gym center. The local fitness landscape has changed significantly since lockdown forced fitness centers to close and reopen under strict safety regulations in regard to the COVID-19 pandemic. Many of them have closed temporarily to make way for socially distanced workouts outside.

Our updated list of the best gyms in Miami reflects these changes, so you’ll notice a shorter list of Miami gyms—but that’s no excuse to skip a workout. Barry’s Bootcamp Fitness

Do you want to look like Kim Kardashian and Jake Gyllenhaal? This celebrity-endorsed boot camp, which has slimmed and toned the likes of Kim Kardashian and Jake Gyllenhaal, was a natural fit for South Beach with its slew of sexy trainers (famous in their own right) and taut-and-trim clients whose good looks only rival their stamina in class. Workouts are broken up into sections—treadmill and weight training to target different muscle groups happen simultaneously—and are led by tough but encouraging instructors who remarkably keep tabs on both halves of the class without ever skipping a beat. If 30 minutes of running at top speeds wear you out, recharge at the juice bar before crawling back to your car.

Roberto Santamarina’s small-but-mighty Little Havana gym packs a full climbing area, several gravity Pilates machines—which use one’s own body weight as leverage—and areas for high-intensity training sessions. Santamarina is a fitness enthusiast and a passionate instructor, leading classes often, offering one-on-one sessions, and pushing clients with regular challenges designed to improve their mental and physical well-being. Need a breather? There’s an infrared sauna for folks to use, too.

Solidcore Gym Center

Heavy sweat isn’t the only indicator of a good workout; feeling like your insides might burst from how much they burn is also a measure of success. That’s the kind of exercise routine you can expect from Solidcore—intense, grueling but with very little impact on your joints and possibly your hairdo. The Pilates-based moves are performed on a Sweatlana machine, which is basically a souped-up reformer, and there’s a heavy emphasis on strengthening your core. Instructors talk you through every move, help change your springs to adjust your machine’s resistance and keep you going with non-cheesy motivational phrases. Like most boutique fitness gyms, Solidcore offers personalized service, free towel service, and small lockets to stow away your valuables. The gym has dozens of locations around the world, including two in Miami: Midtown, which opened in 2018, and Aventura, which opened in 2019.

Anatomy

Anatomy is what a Miami gym can get. Though the facility is outfitted with shiny new equipment—dumbbells, squat racks, a pilates studio, and a beautiful rooftop workout area—the really good stuff is in the bells and whistles. Aiming to be more of a lifestyle club than a straight-up gym, Anatomy offers services such as a salon, infrared sauna, IV therapy, chiropractors and massage therapists, and more. In yet another Miami twist—not just anyone can join. You’ve got to apply for membership (which starts at $189 a month) and hope the Anatomy membership committee (which is a real thing) gives you a green line.
