To can lose weight you have to burn more calories than you eat and drink. Exercise help you to keeping those pounds off. Research shows that regular physical activity will increase your chances of maintaining weight loss. You can start with just a few minutes of exercise at a time. Any exercise is better than none, and that helps your body slowly get used to being active.Your goal is to work up to at least a half an hour most days of the week to get the full benefits from exercise.

This gives your brain an opportunity to explore, examine and enquire.

Physical exercise

Physical exercise delivers oxygen to the brain. This can help to improve your memory, reasoning abilities and reaction times. Read often and read widely. Keeping an active interest in the world around you will help to exercise your brain and improve your mental fitness. Challenge your intellect and memory by learning a new language, doing the cryptic crossword or playing chess. This is important for brain health and good for your social life.

Hobbies such as woodwork and sewing or activities like skipping require you to move both sides of the body at the same time, in precise movements. This can help to improve your spatial awareness and increase your reaction time.
Watch, question and answer game shows and enjoy the competitive spirit. Involve the family in regular games to test their general knowledge.

Take time to relax

Physical activity or exercise can improve your health and reduce the risk of developing several diseases like type 2 diabetes, cancer and cardiovascular disease. Physical activity and exercise can have immediate and long-term health benefits. Most importantly, regular activity can improve your quality of life.

A number of studies have found that exercise helps depression. There are many views as to how exercise helps people with depression:

Increases in daily activity can come from small changes made throughout your day, such as walking or cycling instead of using the car, getting off a tram, train or bus a stop earlier and walking the rest of the way, or walking the children to school.
